Class led by Brad. We started with an in depth analysis of our oi zuki, using partners with bags to push into our static form, then doing slow chudan mai te and then full oi zuki into the bags. Next we worked with partners on maintaining a close mah as they attack (sanpon kumite style), and at the end of class we did a similar drill where we put our palms just shy of our opponents’ and moved forward and back maintaining a constant distance.
Additionally, we practiced Taikyoko Shodan several times through and Heian Shodan a couple times, with the admonishment to go slow and have the same feeling as when we were working with our partners on the oi zuki focus. -
