I joined the Western Circle of Swordfighters in February of 2000.
I make, train, and fight with my own two-handed broad sword and one-handed long sword boken (solid hardwood training swords).
I achieved my Red Rope rank and began steel training and sparring in April 2008, as well as began instructing my own weekly class.
In my time with the Western Circle, I have met and had the
opportunity to cross swords with a broad spectrum of sword fighters. I have
relished in the training and the challenge that being a part of the
Western Circle brings.
In addition to regular stuctured classwork, I continue to practice
on my own in my back yard, at the gym, or simply where ever I find a good place
out of the way, such as when I go hiking or backpacking.
